The Melbourne Olympic Park Trust (MOPT) used fabric flags on light poles and flag poles around the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and Hisense Arena to brand areas and promote events. With a new major sponsor the MOPT wanted to provide additional options for
semi-permanent branding that could be removed during the Australian Open and other major events.
The existing flags were proving short-term and becoming worn after just 3-4 weeks.
Bay Media proposed repurposing the existing flag poles and installing BannerSaver brackets and banners on flag poles and light poles throughout the area.
Bay Media worked with MOPT operations and the manufacturers of the flag poles to provide engineering, ensuring all safety concerns were addressed.
The unique wind-spilling capabilities of BannerSaver™ brackets meant that the flag poles could be repurposed, and large double-sided vinyl banners could be displayed throughout the area.
The job was completed on time and on budget.
The BannerSaver brackets and banners continue to be used for branding Hisense Arena and the Westpac Stadium, being changed for major events throughout the year.
